IMMIGRATION
We can’t close our eyes and hope that illegal immigration goes away; nor can we simply throw our money away on enforcement programs that simply don’t work. These programs fail to fix the problem.
We must increase penalties for document fraud!
We must know WHO is in our country; this is a key security problem, because we can’t separate the average immigrant from a criminal or terrorist.
A nation that can no longer protect its borders can no longer be a sovereign nation.
We must PROTECT our ports; and deploy a VIRTUAL defense mechanism and other techniques.
We will refine our physical infrastructure, so as to prevent unlawful border entry.
We will deploy systematic body surveillance through more effective use of personnel and technology.
Once our border is secured, we can then move forward on re-tooling our immigration system, and policies...the idea is to re-tool the immigration to a “reformed immigration system” that will create the path to earned legal status.
It is time to speed up the process to come to the United States Legally.
This is desperately needed!
NEITHER PARTY HAS TAKEN A CLEAR-CUT POSITION ON THE ISSUE, OR COME UP WITH A MEANINGFUL PLATFORM FOR IMMIGRATION REFORM.
