ENERGY POLICY
Support and enact legislation towards a functional domestic energy policy. Require all information be released to Congress and open to the public. All data should be accessible, including the most up to date facts about OPEC as well as our Domestic Oil Reserve quantities.
We have to start implementing the technologies we have available today, to build a renewable energy infrastructure, along with other methods of conserving energy. The time to review and invest in this technology is NOW! Renewable energy solutions include: windmills, energy grids, nuclear power plants, bio fuels, fusion, hydrogen fuel cells, clean coal, natural gas, geothermal, and long distance transmission lines.
Combined with a responsible energy conservation research
and
development plan, we will succeed.
OUR GOAL is to become energy independent, as quickly as possible, and using every means available to us.
There should be tax incentives for developers and investors who comply with the above renewable energy solutions.
Other ways we can save energy:
The ban on Offshore Drilling should be lifted!
We need to make sure that oil companies are making full use of the land that they already have access to. We should then explore the outer continental shelf as well as our own resources.
I support the construction of the Keystone XL Pipe-Line
The obvious next task is to add to our refining capabilities - this is essential, even for the short term, until alternate energy sources are brought to market and are economically feasible.
Just drilling offshore will not solve the entire energy problem -- but it will buy us time to find and develop new alternate methods. We must do this while focusing on environmental impact issues.
