My name is John Pistone, a resident of Brookfield, Connecticut, a proud parent and happily married for the past 23 years.
A candidate for the position of a Congressman, representing the 5th Congressional District of Connecticut. It would be a tremendous honor for me to be able to represent your views. The regular, everyday working people need representation; they need their voices to be heard!
The people of the 5th Congressional District of Connecticut can make history, by electing an independent candidate who chooses people over Party Politics.
I believe in creating more transparency in government; our elected officials absolutely must be more responsive to the will of the people. It’s a well known fact that Americans prefer political representatives who are committed to finding “practical, workable solutions” instead of empty promises and one-sided political agendas.
The people of the 5th congressional district are tired of not being heard and are dissatisfied with the rhetoric and the way things are being done in Washington, has prompted me to run for Congress. I DO NOT hold allegiance to any major political caucus; I am INDEPENDENT and prefer to do my own thinking and come to my own conclusions, based on what is best for all of us. Remember I work for you.

By being an Independent, I can take common sense strategies, based on the needs of the people, and work in a bi-partisan manner and achieve the right solution in which everyone will benefit. Partisanship is a major problem and we must focus on the real issues that are facing the American people, rather than placing blame on each other.
When there are so many people out of work, it affects the whole economic climate in which we live.
In our country, as well as at the local level where we live in Connecticut, there is a massive re-distribution of income, between those who live by work and those who live by wealth. "That's what makes America Great". People are cutting back on many things and are learning to “do without”, or at least to just get by with the bare minimum.
The fact that I can readily identify with the issues of most everyday, common people is the chief reason why I feel I am best suited to represent the people of the 5th congressional district!
The people of the 5th Congressional District of Connecticut deserve someone who is in touch with the daily, everyday concerns of parents, veterans, business owners, workers, teachers, nurses, students, trade workers and countless others. As a parent and union plumber, I could relate to the everyday concerns.
In particular, our members of the military deserve our deepest respect; frequently they return home, tired, exhausted, even wounded, only to be faced with the same lack of employment as everyone else. Many times they are not even treated with the respect and the support that they deserve!
